US-China Competition: Seeking Common Ground Amidst Strained Relations

In recent weeks, the United States has sent several high-ranking officials to China in an effort to repair the strained relationship between the two global economic powerhouses. Following the visits of US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Secretary of State Antony Blinken, now US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry will become the third senior US official to engage in discussions with Chinese counterparts.
